You will always find plenty of people giving you advice on how to get a job.
But nobody tells you how to leave a job correctly π€
Maybe we are old fashioned π€· but we are strong believers in NEVER burning a bridge!
If you are thinking of leaving your current role, your employer shouldn't just be finding out when you are handing in your notice π
1) If you are unhappy, have concerns or feel your package needs to be reviewed, have the honest conversations early to try and rectify them before interviewing elsewhere.
2) If your employer puts changes in place to fix things for you, give them ample time to take effect and agree a timeline to review.
3) If the issues remain or can't be resolved, and you decide to start looking, let them know and keep them updated with your progress!
4) You have been offered a new role and want to accept, hand in your notice correctly in line with company policy and agree an end date that works for both parties. I would also advise committing to any processes such as exit interviews which help the business improve in the future.
5) Work your notice! Don't be that person...π
